Hi,
I have a friends Dell Laptop running XP home SP 1 and I would like to
connect it to my wireless network to download adaware and such to clean it
up. I have a cable modem connected to a wireless Linksys broadband router,
which hard wires to my desktop, then there is another desktop and a laptop
that connect wirelessly. Is there an easy way to add my freinds laptop to my
network and use its internet connection?

Thanx,

Rip

if you right click on my computer ( on the laptop) and go to properties.
click on the computer name tab and where you see " to rename this computer or
join a domain, click change" you should click "change". follow the
instructions to have the dell join your network. ignore the domain stuff
unless you use a domain. this should get you where you want.
good luck.

If the Dell laptop has an Ethernet port, all you should need to do is
to connect it to a port on your router and make sure that it's enabled
in Network Connections.

If you want to use a wireless connection, configure the Dell laptop
with your network's settings: SSID, encryption type, encryption key,
etc.
