Connecting to comm 1

I was woundering if anyone could tell me how to connect Excel to comm1. I know how to use Excel but not Visual Basic so if someone could dumb it down for me that would be great thank you.
 
Are you also Adam and Anonymous?
Why are you using all of these names?

You need to use an ActiveX control like MSCOMM32.OCX
