Connecting to an XP machine with several users

I am trying to use an XP machine as a file server in my small bussiness. I
can only connect about 10 users at a time. Is there anyway to increase the
number of users? I need to be able to connect about 16. I have Windows XP PRO
loaded.

If you could, it would violate your license to do so. You could pay
per-seat to upgrade to Windows Server or you can run Samba on Linux
supporting an unlimited number of users for free, the latter of which
has worked well for us but it might not work so well if you don't have
much inhouse experience running Linux.

XP has a 10 connection limit - if you need more then server is your next
choice.
