I am having trouble connecting to my printer. It is setup on a printer
server. I can see it on my other computer (which is running 200), but I
cannot see it at all on this computer (XP Pro). How do I resolve this
problem?

Hi JC,

I have just started learning about network printers and was able to set mine
up successfully after having a similar problem to yours. I have a printer
hooked up to a Windows XP machine, and I wanted to be able to access it from
a Windows 98 Machine through the network. I set up printer sharing on the XP
machine correctly, but then I could not find it from the 98 machine's network
neighborhood. I thought back and remembered that as I was setting up printer
sharing on the XP machine, I got a message about the name of the shared
printer being too long, but I ignored it at first and named the printer, "HP
Deskjet 820c Upstairs" (a really long name). After having problems
connecting, I remembered the message and renamed the shared printer "Up"
(something shorter) -- Presto, after that I could view the printer on my 98
machine.

I hope this helps you

-Chris
