Connecting to a 2000 database from 97

Is it possible to set up a way for users who have access97 to link to tables
created in Access 2000.

I have some users with Access 97 and other users with Access 2000 who need
to connect to tables created in Access 97.

If not...

Is there an easy way to convert a database created in Access2000 down to
Access97?

Thank You.

Hello Lisa,

The only way I see to do this (becuase it is what I have done in the past)
is to convert the Access 2000 tables into an Access97 database then use it
as a backend for all the copies. In other words, make the Access97 back end
and link all copies to it.

God Bless,

No. You could export the data in the tables to dBase or text, if they
just need to be able to see the data, but A97 cannot open or read
A2000 databases, period.

Tools... Database Utilities... Convert will let you save the database
in A97 format. Of course any A2000 specific features will be lost. Be
sure the 2000 database is fully compiled, compacted, and error-free
before you convert!
