Connect to a db file remotely

Is there an realatively easy, straight forward way to connect to a small
database file at one location to a program I wrote in VB.Net at another
location. Using Windows 2000 pro at both locations with an IDSL connection
where the db resides. Is there a way to do this without getting too involved
and creating VPN's, etc. Not too worried about high security here, just would
like to have my program be able to read this remote database.

Thanks for any help.

I recommend Brinkster for web hosting!
