Confused ( p4p800 question)

Tuomas Järvinen

I asked some days ago about p4p800 problem.
First, word about apologize, My ealier message have a typo, memory is
Kingston KHXPC3700 (466 Mhz), not PC3200 I told.

I'm Confused. ..

Allow me know, if I'm wrong:
Cpuid tells my memory runs at ~ 200mhz.... ???? I'm using dual channel, so,
x2 = 400mhz.
According some threads in this group, I somehow realize, that by increasing
FSB to 233 I can get this dram working by 1:1 ( 466mhz). My point is not to
OC my CPU / FSB, since I need sometimes 24x7 100% stability.
Ratio is Clocked (A pentium IV related ?)

So What can I do to get this PC3700 memory working ( i was told before about
'overcloking failed').

The reason to buy pc3700 type ddr: local seller did not have anything other
to buy at the moment, and I have to make my decision. Salesman promised for
me It work, if not, he arranges me so, that it will works. We'll see..

BTW. What's this Performance Mode Actually does with Turbo Mode set?
And: Do I need adjust for Dram Idle timer and precharge refresh rate
settings?

Thanks for everyone.

and more confused I'm now, while running memtest86+ 1.0:

BIOS: FSB = 201 Mhz: Memtest reports DDR 402 mhz and speed 2127 Mb/s

BIOS FSB = 200 Mhz: Memtest reports FSB 199mhz, DDR 398 Mhz and speed 2195
Mb/s.

Timings are 2,5 - 3 -3 - 6 , Dram idle state 0T and Refresh rate 7.8
microsec.

The speed difference is not (for me) the primary question, but I'm still
wondering, why with FSB 201mhz Memory speed drops ...?

Thanks for advise.
Tuomas.

PAM only works at exactly 200MHz. At 201MHz, it is turned off by the
BIOS.

Yup. The drop I see is bigger than that, it's in the order of 700 mb/sec on
a Dual Channel setup.
