conflict with 3G data card

I use broadband connection at home and have now got a 3G Datacard for when I
am on the road, the problem is having installed the datacard software (
Vodaphone) I am unable to use my broadband connection it gives an error in
Outlook so removed the datacard software and all works fine again . So I need
to work out the conflict with the card any ideas how you can set up the data
card so it does not effect the broadband / Outlook setting s

I have one too and it works great for me. What error do you get and what
version of Outlook are you using? Make sure you configure Outlook to use the
SMTP server of Vodaphone or if your ISP that hosts the mailbox allows you to
connect to their SMTP server from another network you might need to
configure it to use authentication.

but guess its in my " Account " settings, but I think I need to understand
how to configure the settings so it works on Broadband at home and on the
datacard on the road ?

Indeed. For that you require info (name of the SMTP server) from both your
ISP that hosts your mailbox and Vodaphone. If your ISP that hosts the
mailbox allows you to connect to their SMTP server from another network
(Vodaphone) you most likely need to configure it to use authentication.
Otherwise you need to configure it to use the SMTP server from Vodaphone.
Instructions on how to do this depends on your Outlook version which you did
not specify. You also still need to mention the exact error Outlook gives
you or we might be discussing the wrong issue here.
