Conflict Google/Snopes

Windows ME
OE 6.0.2800.1123

When I do a "Google search" for an item and click on the article from
www.snopes.com , the Snopes site will not open. The screen turns white
and the bar at the bottom says, "Done." But the website does not open.
I can click on other articles from the same "Google Search" and they
open just fine.

When I try to get out of this page, my only alternative is to "X" out.
When I do this I get the message, "This Window is busy. Closing this
window could cause some problems. Do you want to close it anyhow?"

I have waited as long as fifteen minutes and then, since there is no
response I have no choice but to close the window if I want to
continue using my computer.

If I go to www.snopes.com first and then look up the same article it
opens just fine.

I have:
1. Uninstalled the Google Toolbar.
2. Updated and run CWShredder, Adaware, Spybot, and AVG Full system
Scan . . . all were clean.
3. Run HijackThis and found no problems.
4. Deleted Temp files
5. Emptied Recycle Bin.

I have not installed any new software or changed any settings
recently.

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

The link on the Google search results page is not 'live'. It is stored in a
database on the Google servers and refreshed by 'spiders' that visit sites
and get the latest data about links and pages.
Give it a few days for the google spider to revisit the site or contact
snoops and tell them to increase the frequency of spider visits to their
site. They should already be aware of the problem if they are monitoring
referrals to their site, but probably not.
