Confirm deletions

A user reported his delete key will not delete highlighted
text. He noticed he was being asked to confirm his
deletion in the lower part of the screen. Is
this "confirm deletion" an option ?? If so where is it
set ??

You'll never guess ...

Tools > Options > General and turn off the Help and Navigation features for
WordPerfect Users.
