I have two Windows 2000 Server computers. They have tcp/ip connectivity but
do not belong to any domains. Neither do they run any domain name servers.

I want to configure the first server to add users of the second server to
the default security settings of the first server.

That is. on the first server, I go to Component Services. Expand Component
Services Node. Go to Properties of My Computer under Computers. In My
Computer Properties Dialog Box, I go to the default Security Tab. I click on
Edit button for Access Permissions. It shows me another box where I can
select users to add. BUT, the users are only users on the first server. I
want to add some users form the second server. Problem is that on the drop
down box where you pick computers, the only option in server one.

If you got to Windows Explorer | Network Connections | Entire Network |
Microsoft Windows Network what do you see there? ou habe to be on a Network
to see both machines. They can be workgroups if you want. You need to see
both computers in the Network there before you can staryt getting info about
users on the other machine.

Another way of doing this is Start | Run | mmc | and you will addf a snapin
for Computer management and you will choose the remote machine from the
macvhine you do this in. If you cannot connect to this remote machine (by
Computer name) you will not be able to do what you want with users.
