Configuring SUS to get updates from an internal SUS update server

How do I configure my Windows2kx clients to get updates
from my newly set up SUS server? Seems to me that Windows
2000 SP3 & XP PCs does not have configuration settings for
SUS servers; they automatically connect to the Internet
for updates.

If you do NOT have a domain, you have to configure them with the ADM file (Template) and add a registry entry. If you HAVE a domain, you need to add the Windows Update Template which can be downloaded here.
