Configure Win XP to type Chinese characters

I understand that Windows XP has a build-in support (IME,
or Input Method Editor) to input Chinese characters ( as
well as other East Asia characters, such as Korean and
Japanese). I have a Windows XP Home Edition and an Office
97 on my computer .

My question is how I should configure the Windows XP so
that I will be able to type/input Chinese (simplied) in
MS Word, email, or other applications?

Any help would be really appreciated!
