Configuration Manager is readonly

For some reason 'Configuration Manager' seems to be readonly. I have a
solution with 3 projects and I would like to set the configuration so that
only one project builds in debug mode, but all build in release mode. I
wonder why this area is readonly.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
I had this exact problem myself

Are you using a dual monitor setup

If so, try moving the configuration manager dialog to the other monitor (!

It seemed weird to me at first too, until I thought about it...
