I dream about a buit-in conditionnal text tagging in word.
What I need.
From an existing text file,
1 - select some amount of text (with its formating context) and then tag
this part of text with a tag
ideally, with a variable tag which can take several content
2- select a combination of tag/contents to publish a conditional extract of
the whole file
For example, you need to write a sale sheet, with some différent information
depending on the customer target
then you write the entire document, you correctly tags some contents
then you extract one sub-file for a customer, one another subfile for
another customer
If you have to maintain the consistency and the quality of your document,
you update the "master" file
Important :
Tags could be cascading
OFFER 1 [master document]
dear customer, we will perform the following job :
- diagnostic of your IT network [start of TAG "DIAG" or "JOB=diag" ]
including
- servers [ TAG SERVERS]
- workstation [TAG WORKSTATION] [end of TAG DIAG]
- update of the operating systems [start of TAG "UPDATE" or JOB =update]
including
- servers [ TAG SERVERS]
- workstation [TAG WORKSTATION] [end of TAG UPDATE]
With a built in tool bar, you can sort (like a auto filtering in word), some
of the set
of TAG defined in the document
exemple
TAG JOB = update & TAG SERVER is true
So you get the following text :
dear customer, we will perform the following job :
- update of the operating systems
including
- servers
I found something near of that purpose : "Live linx conditionnal text for
word"
but TAGS cannot be "cascaded"
I hope my "frecnchy english" could be understood
