Conditional Merges in Word

I'm trying to learn about conditional formating. Where do I find out how each one works ie "ask", "fill in", "skip record"? The Help button wasn't any help at all lol.
 
There's really not much to be learnt. The best thing is to just try using
them and if you get stuck, post to the mailmerge.fields newsgroup.
