Conditional formatting

Is it possible to format a cell, that contains a date, to change color after
30 days have passed since that date?
 
Yes
Using the formula facility in Conditional Formatting
If your date is in C4, then.......

Formula is.. =TODAY()-C4>30

then click the Format button and select your formatting for when this
condition is true
