Conditional formatting

Please can anyone help me? I want to be able to turn due dates so they show
red, amber or green depending on length of time left. Red = today + 2 days,
amber = today + 2 - 4 days and green = today + >4 days. I just can't get
anything to work. Help me:-(

I am a little confused to the ranges:

Red = Today + 2 days
Amber = Today + 2 - 4 days (why not Today - 2?)
Green = Today + >4 days

Ususally you specifiy the range >=Today and <= Today + 5 (as an example).

Anyway I will give you an example of setting up a conditional format for
Red. Based on your specs, it will only be red if the date in the cell equals
(Today + 2 days).

Click on FORMAT > Conditional Format.
Change the first window from "Cell Value Is" to "Formula Is".
In the next window type: =AND(A1<>"", A1=(TODAY()+2))
Then click on FORMAT (in right hand side of window) and change to colors you
want.

An example of a range, say 15 days prior to today, would be:
=AND(A1<>"", TODAY()>=A1-15, TODAY()<=A1-1)
This would be used in a case where the date in cell A1 is a deadline and you
want it to cycle through colors at certain date ranges 16-30 days is yellow,
1-15 is orange and >= A1 is RED. Of course I have only shown you one
condition. You would have to ADD and change the range specs to fit your
needs.

Remember, the conditional format will execute the first TRUE condition.

Hope this helps,
Les
