CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

I am using excel 2003 version. I want to know whether is there a chance to
get more steps in conditional formatting? I want this option regularly for
color filling in a spreadseet for a date formatted area.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion. I have dowloaded it and saved it. Can you
please tell me further what is the next step to apply and get 30 condition
option in my work sheet menu?
Thank you.

You downloaded and saved the *.ZIP file.

Find this file on your computer.

Move it to your Office\Library folder.

Double-click to open and hit File>Extract All.

Follow the wizard and extract to the Library folder.

Open Excel and a workbook.

Go to Tools>Add-ins and place a checkmark next to CFPlus add-in.

Your Menu bar will get a new item......xld Tools.

Select to use.

Three conditions, 4 if you count default, is the limit in 2003.

Go to Bob Phillips' site and download the CFPlus add-in which
allows up to 30 conditions.

This is a fabulous resource. Thank you for posting about it.
I have been wanting more than three conditional formatting
options since ... forever.

However, when I just installed it and tried to launch it in
an existing workbook, it gave me an error message: "Error
while preparing the workbook." :-(

Not sure what's up with that. This is Excel 2002 on XP Pro.

First of all, go to Tools>Options>SecurityAdvanced>Trusted Publishers.

Check "trust all installed add-ins and templates" and "trust access to visual
basic project".

OK out then click on Xld Tools and "Launch CFPlus"

You will get the error message. Click "Yes" to answer the question.

CFPlus should launch.

Make that Tools>Options>Security>Macro Security>Trusted Publishers.

I was thinking you'd say that. :) (I saw your other follow-up,
too, correcting the menu syntax.) That was not it, however.
That already was set properly. I run a number of add-ins,
so had that issue in the past.

I never figured out what was wrong, and I did close and re-open
the worksheet a few times trying. But now it does work. Cool.
I have various complex hiden worksheets in that workbook already
myself, and I was asking myself if that could be the reason for
the error. (I have a macro to refresh downloaded data to a hidden
worksheet and then reproduce the cells I need in the visible worksheet,
along with other added formulas. This is sort of my home-built
method of trying for more robust data integrity, the other way
I'd consider being to use Access instead of Excel.) :)

In addition to the 30 full conditional formats Bob is providing,
the original three (plus default) also still work, so that's
actually 33 or 34, depending on how we count. Thanks again,
Bob, and Gord for steering some of us over there!

Hi,
I succeded to install it. but this cf plus tool didn't work in my work book
same as the 3 conditional format work which i used to do regularly. The
condition is that I use date format like below in my calender

condition 1: if the cell value is between "(from date today)" and "(A
number of days)" then format pattern color should be yellow

condition 2 : if the cell value is between "(from date today + A number
of days)" and "(B number of days)" then format pattern color should be green

condition 3 : if the cell value is between "(from date today + A number
of days" + "B number of days)" and "(C number of days)" then format pattern
color should be pink

condition 4 : if the cell value is between "(from date today + A number
of days" + "B number of days + C number of days) and "( D number of days)"
then format pattern color should be brown

condition 5 : if the cell value is between "(from date today + A number
of days" + "B number of days + C number of days + D number of days)" and "(E
number of days)" then format pattern color should be red

....and so on....

This is not working. please guide me further.

Thank you,
- Narnimar

I am sorry Narnimar.

This old brain will not get a grasp of the conditions you wish to create.

Hi! Gord Dibben,
My problem not yet solved. Any idea?
