conditional formatting

Within my worksheet which I use to make work roosters for my personel I use
conditional formatting to colour a cell when I enter a particular work code.
For example if I enter K5 in a cell the background colour becomes light
blue and for K14 the cell becomes red. The problem is I can not use
conditional formatting for any more than three colours yet I use up to ten
different codes all of which I would like to have a different coloured
background. Is their a formular or a predefined macro that is available or
has anybody an alternatieve suggestion.
Thankyou in the hope of a positive response.

I would suggest writting a macro to do this!

If you're new to macros / VBA then record a macro that alter the background
colour of a cell to all of the colours you want to use. Then edit the macro
and create an IF statement to check the cells for the work codes you want and
then alter the colour as you see fit.
