Conditional formatting

How can I apply a conditional format to a range such that if a number in a
column is greater than the one in the preceding column, then it is fomatted
with a blue font? It is this business about formatting a number to the left
that has me lost!

Hi,
In conditional Formatting choose "Formula is:" and this:
=B1>A1

Hope this helps!

You last sentence seems to contradict your first sentence and would
probably just be ignored. If you did not get what you wanted from your
other answer then take a look at

The red lettering near the top is something to always keep in mind when
using Conditional Formatting. The formula supplied is correct but
you have to keep in mind the active cell and the cell selection when
assigning Conditional Formatting.
