Conditional Formatting of merged cells, borders don't show correct

In Excel 2000, on merged cells I am using conditional formatting to apply
formatting including fill color and borders. On some cells the borders only
show on part of the merged cell. It may appears like the border is only on
the first cell of the merged cells. How do I fix?

By merging multiple cells you create a single larger cell.

Do you want the formats of each cell in the single cell to be retained?

Cannot be done.

No, I want one conditional format to cover the entire merged cell. It has
worked in many places on the worksheet. In some places it only puts borders
around part of the merged cell. I have tried unmerging the cell and
remerging it and then placing the format formula on again with no luck.

I cannot replicate your problem.

CF colors and borders the merged cell as I ask it to.

Maybe a video card issue?

Or a printer driver issue?
