Conditional Formatting in Reports?

Why is conditional formatting greyed out (i.e. disabled in the Format menu)
in my reports? Does it work with reports?

One possibility is that you may not have selected a bound control - the menu
command is disabled until you select one of the bound controls (e.g. a text
box) on the report.
