G Gord Dibben Sep 21, 2006 #2 Conditional Formatting only allows fromatting to highlight the condition. It cannot show M if you type male in a cell. If your want the "M" or "F" hightlighted ina cell, CF will do the job. CF>Condition1 Cell Value equal to "M" Format as Red Add>Condition2 Cell Value equal to "F" format as green If I have misinterpreted, ignore or post back. Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP
