Computers time and date keep resetting

Hi,
When I turn the computer off and leave it off overnight, then turn it on the
next day, the time and date resets itself to January 2002 00:00. It does it
every time now and i'm really fed up of it.
Help would be great!!!!

Porbably the battery on the motherboard needs replacing

if it's a clip in disc type you are lucky, can get them from most
supermarkets, dixons, currys etc
if its soldered then a bit more difficult.......
