When on a domain, you are given an opp to enter a username and a password
(XP to XP) to get to another computers' resources. I tried to get to c$ from
a domain computer to a domain-less computer and the username is greyed out
and defaults to computername\guest. Is there a way to get into the
administrative shares remotely without enabling the guest account?

Hi, Keith -

Was the domainless machine an XP Home machine? XP Home
doesn't have admin shares, therefore there is no C$ share
on an XP Home machine - and all access to shared
resources are through the guest account.

If the machine is an XP Professional box, turn off simple
file sharing - here's a KB article:

Good luck!
