Computers don't see each other

I have desktop XP, laptop XP and desktop 2000 (all part of the same networked
home workgroup. DesktopXP is main computer (connected to printer, scanner,
linksys router). 2000 is wire-connected to desktop XP and laptopXP has
wireless card. desktopXP can see 2000 root drive, but other computers can't
see each other. I have enabled sharing for the shared documents folder, as
well as the root drives, but still can't see each other. Especially the
laptop, it shows nothing under My Network Places. Any ideas why?

Thanks in advance,

This problem is reported here regularly, and it can come from a number of
causes. One of the most common would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal
firewall, or other security component. Read this article with an open mind, and
consider the possibilities.

For more immediate help, provide "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", and "net
config" from each computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article,
and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

Open My Computer or My Documents and then go to Tools > Options > View (tab).
Scroll to the bottom of the list and make sure that Simple File Sharing is
selected.

A restart of all computers may or may not be needed.
