When trying to explore a xp pro machine from a win2k machine I get the
folowing error pop-up
"\\<Computername> is not accessible
Access is denied"
I have gone over permissions, attrib, user settings and everything else I
could find. I also get a "System Error 5 has occcured" when trying to use
"net view computername"
Any suggestions would sure help!

It's probably a firewall issue but it might also be something within the
network setup. Did you run the XP network setup wizard all the computers on
the network, if yes, did you make sure any firewalls including the XP
firewall were turned off during the wizard?

During the wizard, the user is asked how this computer connects to the
Internet. Usually, the correct response is Gateway. An incorrect response
can result in the issue you have described.

If none of the above helps, please take this question to the
windowsxp.network_web newsgroup.
