Computer won't boot.

Today I wanted to swap the PCMCIA ASUS wifi card in my toshiba laptop for a
PCMCIA USB 2.0 hub. I had windows media player running at the time.
The screen had turned itself off as it does after a certain amount of time
and so I hit the escape key to revive it. Almost at the same time, I ejected
the wifi card.
Upon doing this, windows media player instantly minimised, revealing the
desktop. The computer was totally frozen at this point and wasn't responding
to any commands (i.e. ctrl-alt-del).
I therefore had to turn off the power.

Upon turning the computer on again absolutely nothing seems to happen!
I don't get anything displayed on the screen, there is no indication that
the computer is trying to access the hard drive, it just doesn't do anything.
The power is definitely on, the screen is definitely working but nothing
happens.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

According to you it is not even doing a post screen (screen giving you an
option to go into setup or advance booting safemode) check. Is that right?
No activity at all? Try unplugging the power, removing the battery and
holding down the power switch. Reconnect the power and then try to boot.
Try holding down the power switch if you have to.
