Computer starts by itself

My computer starts up by itself from standby every morning at about
7.00 could somebody please tell me why this happens and how I can stop
it, I'm on Windows XP Home.

Thanks Yves Leclerc for your reply, I'm a bit of a layman when it comes
to this sort of thing how do I find the BIOS on my computer,

Since it's in Standby, there is likely a Task set to wake up the PC to
be accomplished. Look in Scheduled Tasks for something.

During the PC start-up, you should see

Press <Del> for Setup

or some other type of key.

If all else fails, turn the machine off.

Thanks guys and thanks Ayush, I did find one scheduled task so I
unchecked it, all that remains now is if it turns itself on again
tomorrow, then I'll check the BIOS, if that fails then I will turn it
of at night.

Check if you have any Scheduled Task enabled at that time,
If yes, then go to the properties of the tasks > Settings tab > Uncheck the
option "Wake the computer to run task"
