Computer Settings? (Newbie Question)

A

Adam

I'm confused about how the computer setting are applied
and to whom?
I have Group Policy applied to Authenicated Users and only
have configured the user settings. I was under the
impression that authenicated user will only apply to
users, but when I enabled "Can't change Automatic Updates"
in the computer settings it changes for all Authenticated
Users! Does Authenicated Users include their computers as
well? Why don't I have to add the computers in the
security tab?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Authenticated Users applies to users and computers.

Computer Settings are applied to the machine, during startup. User settings
are applied during logon. There is a setting called loopback processing,
which, when enabled will cause computer settings to be applied during hte
logon process. This is useful when you need to apply different machine level
settings based on the user which is logged in.
