Hello, I have windows XP for my home PC. I was just ont he internet when all
of a sudden the screen went really black. so i checked the plugs and cables
and they were all plugged in. i then managed to re-start the PC as i could
JUST see the mouse as the screen was so black. when it started back up the
screen is still a really dark black and i can't see the mouse or anythnig on
the screen hardly and so can't use the computer!it still appears to be
turning on and otherwise being normal, but i have tried fiddling with the
contrast and brightness and nothing seems to work whatever you do with these
settings. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks a lot

I dont have another screen

Well I would suggest that your problem is either a duff screen, or a duff
video card. You are going to have to try to borrow another screen to see if
it IS the screen or not.
