computer running slow

Hi,
I don't understand why the computer is running slower and slower, it's
just half a year after my previous fresh installation. The cpu usage was
just less than 50%, but the computer was running so slow.... I've tried to
run virus scan and spyware scan, and defragmentation, and some registry
cleaner; but still running slow.... so what can i do next?
