Computer restarts each time windows tries to start

Each time my computer tries to start windows, the process is interrupted and
the computer restarts. Everything starts up fine until the windows startup
screen is displayed, this stays on for a few seconds and then the computer
restarts. This process loops forever until I power down the computer by
holding the power button for 3-10 seconds. I used the F8 function and tried
most of the options. When I do this the computer restarts as above. This
happened after I tried to connect a device (Creative Labs Zen Micro MP3
player) for which I did not first install the software. Can anyone offer a
suggestion??

Once a restart or start up is going, tap the F8 key,any hesitation or simply
holding the key instead of tapping, the OS will not catch it...Also,if you
have a
retail copy of xp cd,boot to xp,recovery,in recovery type:Fixboot Then type:
EXIT let xp start
