computer locking up

I received the advice to "Reduce the graphic acceleration
of your card." in order to attempt to solve the locking up
problem. What does this mean and How do I do it?

My computer locks up hard from time to time but often when
I use a certain internet site to do real estate work. I
can never get through a full work session without it
locking up and needing to be rebooted. I use ME and IE 6.

Right click on the Desktop, select properties/Settings in the Advance tab
settings you should have a means of reducing it. I know I do have it with
mine.
