Computer keeps rebooting

Eric

A bit similar to JHawk below but different set-up.

I wanted to install a new anti-virus software. first step
was to remove my previous software (Norton 2003, which I
always kept up to date) to complete the removal I needed
to reboot. when I did, it started into a loop where; when
I restart the computer, I make to the point where I see
the Windows XP Logo, then I see a blue screen and then the
computer restarts. I cannot start Windows because the
computer automatically restarts before displaying the
Windows desktop.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you very much Aaron,

I've tried this but I'm still getting the blue screen. as
you know, the blue screen flashes very fast in front of
your eyes so I tried to film it and almost got everything
on it. Here is what it reads like:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer.

_ _ unountable_boot_volume (This is where I didn't get all
of it, I'm missing a few letters that I couldn't read at
the beginning)

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error
screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears
again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure hardware or software is properly
installed. If this a new installation ask your software
or hardware manufacturer or any windows update you might
need.
If problem continues, dissable or remove any newly
installed software or hardware. Disable BIOS memory
options as caching or shadowing.

If you need to use safe mode to remove or dissable
components restart your computer, press f8 /w

Not too sure how to proceed on this one.

Hope you can guide me through this one.

Thanks
