computer hang when slide show start

Dear Sir/Madam
When i start a slide show in Power Point the computer hanged, i do reinstall
office also but no change.

Can you switch to other programs and use them normally?
Is there an icon for the show on the task bar (but when you click it, you don't
see the show)?
