You'll want to check for viruses, spyware and do a general cleaning of your
system.
Check for spyware by downloading and install adaware from:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
Check for viruses by updating you current virus scanner and running a full
system scan. If you don't have one, it is well advised that you purchase
one or load up one of the free ones offered.
You can also download and run stinger from McAfee, it's a free tool that
illiminates many of the more recent viruses.

Also, you should enable a firewall. In Help and Support, type in the
keywoard, firewall. The first hit will walk you through what needs to be
done to enable your built in firewall.
