computer doesn't find camera when plugged into usb port

I have a fuji film A200 digital camera, The plug & play
worked for about a month. Now my computer doesn't find my
camera when I plug it into the USB port. I've contacted
Fuji and Gateway-both say it is not their problem. I sent
the camera back to Fuji & they sent it back saying the
camera and usb cable work properly. Fuji suggested I
contact Microsoft as it was working, then stopped. They
said it is a Windows XP problem. I have searched the
windows xp page and it says that when I plug in the
camera, the wizzard should start-it doesn't. Can anyone
help me?

There is a driver, however it does say it isn't needed, but what the heck, if you are
having problems it couldn't hurt.

It does say in the support documents if you are using the FinePix software version
2.0 you need to update.
