Computer change and Windows XP Activation

Hello,

I recently swapped-out a variety of components on the
computer I built a couple months ago due to quality
problems with the original components. As a result, I
had to reinstall Windows XP using the same OEM license I
purchased when I originally bought the components to
build the computer.

When I attempted to install and reactivate the XP
installation, I received an error message that stated
that I was exceeding the licensed number of
installations. Obviously, MSFT thinks I am trying to
defraud them but I cannot find any resource on MSFT.com
that will help me correct this situation.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks a million.

Maybe not. OEM is licensed to be used only on the first computer it is
installed on, and this may now be considered a new computer. And MS does not
support OEM.

Replace "mail" with "36db"
You just need to call the phone number that was presented with the message
and explain the rebuild. They will give you an activation code to input.
