computer auto locks

At work my computer has been set to automatically lock after a few
minutes of inactivity. I just find it annoying to have to re-type my
pword to get back in several times a day. How do I disable the auto
lock? I was told I could do this even though my comp is part of the
network. We are running on Windows XP.

If you are under a network group policy, nothing you can do.

Check your screensaver settings (specifically, the "on resume, password
protect" button), but it might be something enforced as a group policy by
your IT Dept.

Better that than someone else being able to wander up to your machine and
having access to all your work, e-mails etc.

Consult your network administrator for the specific procedures
applicable under your specific network security configuration. (And
don't forget to consult the HR department about severance packages.
Many businesses fire people who deliberately try to circumvent company
security policies.)

Right Click an Empty Space on the Desktop Screen , pick Properties then
Screensaver then Un-checkmark the "On resume password protect", then pick
Power then pick Advanced then Un-checkmark "Prompt for password when computer
resumes from standby", if this doesnt work ask your Manager or Boss for the
name of the Tech Guy that works for him #1 , Why ? + #2 , What to Do ?
