Computer always reads the floppy disc drive

My computer always reads the floppy disc drive when
shutting down. Is there a way to have it stop doing this?
Before I ever used a floppy disc on this new computer, I
never had this problem. Is there any way to have it not
scan the floppy disc drive? Thanks

Check your anti-virus program. It is probably set to scan the A:\ drive on
shutdown.

Its probably your virus checker. Configure it not to scan floppies on exit.

Antivirus will often do this. What harm does it do?
