compressing files and folders

Am unable to compress files or folders using Windows XP
Pro. Help directions conclude with instructions to check
the "confirm attribute changes " but there seems to be no
window opening with this option. I followed the
directions: Open My Computer.
Double-click a drive or folder.
Right-click the file or folder you want to compress, and
then click Properties.
On the General tab, click Advanced.
Select the Compress contents to save disk space check
box, and then click OK.
In the Properties dialog box, click OK.
In Confirm Attribute Changes, select the option you want.
But found no place to select the "CONFIRM ATTRIBUTE
CHANGES? Any suggestions?

"Confirm Attribute Changes" is the title of the window. It is not a specific
command but should give you the options to apply the change to just the
folder or to the folder, subfolders and files. the Confirm Attribute Changes
window pops open after you have selected the option to compress then clicked
OK and the clicked OK again.
