Compressing an Excel File

If I go into my computer and choose the file and send it
to compression, it is only zipping it. This will not
accomplish the need.
 
There's no way to decrease the native size of an XL workbook other than
reducing the number of cells used on each sheet, reducing the number of
sheets, and "cleaning up" any macro code.

In addition, eliminating or simplifying cell formatting can reduce fil
size in some situations
