Compatability

There are two parts to this query.

1)
Is it possible to open and modify (including VBA)an Excel97 workbook in
Excel2003, and will it still be able to function in Excel97 again if changes
are saved?

2)
Is it possible to install Excel97 on a computer with XP as the operating
system.

The reason for this is that Windows NT with Excel97 is used at my place of
work and I want to do more things at home where I have XP.

Many thanks

1. Should be OK as long as you don't use 2003 features that were NOT
available in xl97. Do not save as xl97. Just save as you would normally in
2003.

2. I have xl95,xl97, & xl2002 all on the same xp computer and all works
well. Of course, you would install to separate directories.

Hi
yes to both.
Just make sure then you change the VBA code in Excel 2003 you don't use
methods which are not available in Excel 97.

But just opening and saving the file: No problem
