compatability PROBLEMS!!!

Somebody please help, How hard could it be to make
available a list of known compatability issues with XP?
I'm ready to blow my top after doing search after search
in Microsoft, Just to find out why my system is missing a
vital file,( c:\windows\speech\speech.dll )so that I can
get my AOL Point&Speak up and running.
Help! How do I find it? Or where do I get it?

Thanks

Why don't you rant against your beloved A.O.Hell?

The file you need, is NOT part of a Windows XP install. In fact, the damned
folder does not even exist on any "standard" installation I have checked.

Take your anger, petulance and less than stunning computer literacy to those
who should be able to help you. The peeps who foster A.O.Hell upon an
unsuspecting public!

Greetings --

I'm afraid you'll need to contact AOL's tech support for resolution
of problems with (or caused by) their product; Microsoft has no
control over AOL's product quality (or lack thereof).

Hi,

You're searching the wrong place. Compatibility is a matter of what that
hardware/software manufacturer supports. They are the ones to alter program
code or write compatible drivers. If you are having problems with your
sound, then you should be checking with the system or sound card
manufacturer.

Apparently, the people you want to talk to are the makers of Dragon
Naturally Speaking. It seems from a Google search that speech.dll
installs with their program. It also seems like there's an AOL branded
version.

Also, there's a support forum for Dragon Naturally Speaking here:

You might be able to find help there.
