comparing 2 lists and adding information

I'm trying to find a way to add quiz scores to an existing excel sheet
easily. My original gradebook is based on the traditional name, social
secuity number, etc. I have output from another program that gives me
social secuirty number and quiz score. How do I add the quiz scores to
the original list based on comparing the social scurity numbers. Output
for quiz scores can be in any order and not every students takes the
quizzes. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I take it that your "original gradebook" is the "existing Excel sheet".
In what form is the "output from another program"? Is it a separate Excel
file? A separate sheet in the original gradebook? Doing what you want is
fairly simple if the source and destination are both Excel files and even
easier if they are in the same file. HTH Otto
