compare two word documents side by side?

yesterday I was working and accidentily discovered a feqture that allowed me
to view two documents side by side. There was even a scroll lock.
Now I can't figure out how to replicate my mistake.
 
Open both documents, then Window, Compare side by side with (Other open
document).
 
Thanks for the advice. I tried what you sugested. The command has disapeered
from the Window menu.
I can also not find the command in the toolbar/customize command.
Any other ideas?
 
What version of Word are you using? I've got Office 2003 and the Compare
command is there always...
 
I have Windows XP professional installed.
It is odd that it has vanished so completely.
 
I'm not sure Word 2002 had that feature.
