I am looking for a program allowing to compare the sizes of folders between
a drive and a mounted image of that drive
( drive C: inflating and I want to see where and why)

Only need to check folder sizes. Have already checked several compare
utilities but they do not give folder sizes, only files that differ

freeware like "folder sizes"
should work for you....

go to download.com and
search for it or others like
it.....

keep in mind to turn off
the folder sizes service when
not in use.

otherwise, the explorer will
be really slow every time you
make an inquiry of your files because
it is busy examining and calculating
the sizes...

after you use the date and time props window as a calendar, just hit cancel
and it won't change the date.

For example, Total Commander -- 30-days fully functional shareware, less
than 2 MB installation file, www.ghisler.com -- can help. It can even
mount this image -- if to download and install its VirtualDisk plugin.

Simply press in it a spacebar on the folder you want to know the size --
and it will show this size.

You can also compare the folders to find the different files in them
(Commands - Synchronize Dirs...), and much more.
