Compacting Access db from vb(6)

I an inserting records in several tables in an Access db, and then transfer
the db via ftp to a web-server.
The problem is that the size of the acces db is growing increadeably. Is it
possible to compact and repair an acces db from outside access?

In addition to the other replies, consider posting VB6+database-related
